Heart Treatment

Your test results may indicate that you need a vascular interventional treatment rather than surgery. UW Health Partners Heart & Vascular Center offers a variety of vascular interventional treatments, all performed in our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab.

Cardiac procedures offered include:

• Coronary artery stenting - During this procedure, a balloon catheter widens a narrowed artery in your legs and a small metal stent is inserted to help keep the artery open.
• Pacemakers and defibrillator implantation - Implanted cardiac devices are surgically placed to help your heart maintain a normal beat.
• Cardiac ablations procedures - Used to treat arrhythmias, or abnormal heart rhythms, this nonsurgical procedure uses a catheter to eradicate abnormal electrical pathways in your heart.
• When needed, our partnership with UW Health provides a seamless link to heart and vascular services at UW Health.
